Hilary’s 3rd day in Bogota, Colombia was jam-packed with charity events which she was scheduled to attend as a part of the Blessings in a Backpack charity.

Her mom, Susan was with her the whole day, along with the mayor Samuel Moreno and Backpack founder Stan Curtis.

Their first event was a visit to the children of the IDIPRON shelter. During the event, Hilary enjoyed traditional games with the children such as mini tejo, rana, golosa, coca, lazo, parqués and many others. The children of the IDIPRON showed off their theater skills to grab the attention and love of Hilary.

Hilary and the Blessings in a Backpack team had a busy day of charity events yesterday, August 15 in Bogota, Colombia.

Hilary Duff was named “Ambassador for the Youth” in Bogota by Mayor Samuel Moreno at the Palacio Lievano (Bogota City Hall).

Duff is in the Colombian capitol on an ambitious four-day mission to bring meals to the city’s underprivileged children on behalf of “Blessings in a Backpack,” a U.S.-based program, which feeds underprivileged children in grades K-10. Duff’s agenda includes distributing nutritious meals to children in orphanages and hospitals and meeting with ex-gang members.

Hilary has finally arrived in Bogota, Colombia yesterday, August 14 as a part of the Blessings in a Backpack charity, which for the first time ever, has gone international.

Her first activity on her schedule was a press conference with the mayor of Bogota, Samuel Moreno. Hilary and the ‘Backpack’ team are to feed 3000 hungry children.

Hilary Duff arrives in Bogota at 6 AM, Friday, August 14th and she will meet the Mayor of Bogota in the afternoon.

On Saturday, August 15th, Duff, the youth ambassador, will go to Meissen Hospital for a vaccination campaign. In the evening, she will attend a soccer game in the El Campin stadium.

On Sunday, August 16th, she will meet kids who were orphaned because of the war.

Blessings in a Backpack is now an international charity program!

Hilary and the founders of Blessings in a Backpack will bring the program to Bogota, Colombia on August 1 until August 15.

“She will bring journalists and the media with her at the international level, which is wonderful, because it will allow the world to know the progress in society that Bogota has made in the past few years.” says Mayor Samuel Moreno.

This time it’s not just about food in backpacks! She will be campaigning the importance of vaccination.
