Behind the scenes: ‘I Want to Blow You Up’
July

You might still remember that song interlude during War, Inc. where Yonica Babyyeah (Hilary) sings a comedic song, ‘I Want to Blow You Up.’ If you can’t remember, watch that interlude here.

Well, guess what? The producers actually made a real music video for the song. Contrary to the comedic quality of the song, the music video looks very well-directed and high-budgeted. The music video was shot in Bulgaria, during a short break from shooting ‘War, Inc.‘ The video remains unreleased, but if it was released, no doubt, it would be one of the best Hilary music videos in terms of production.

Go behind the scenes of the shoot. Watch an unreleased video!

Hilary: “I’m not making a record right now.”
June
2010

news_062509_music

Hilary recently spilled on an interview that she has no current plans to record a new album.

While her music career is on hold, she’s keeping herself busy next month by working on two upcoming movies, specifically The Story of Bonnie & Clyde, as well as working on the fashion line, Femme, which comes out in September or October. With that, I’m definitely not surprised that she’s pausing her music career.

The Prophet, a reliable music source, says, “It looks like singer/actress Hilary Duff has taken a page out of Vanessa Hudgens’ book by announcing in a recent interview that she has no current plans to release any new music.”

“I’m not in a rush to get back into the studio,” reveals Hilary “I love music, but I have so many other things going on that I don’t wanna do it until it feels right.”

Although, Hilary confirms that she is indeed writing new songs, but she doesn’t plan on recording them soon.

“I get in a mood where I I’ll have an idea for song and I’ll write it down or say it into a little voice recorder, so I have the ideas and I think I’ll get the itch again soon but I’m not making a record right now.”

About how important music is to her:

“I don’t think I know how to even put [how important music is to me] into words.” gushed the speechless star “I listen to so much music throughout the day, it feeds your emotions. I wouldn’t be able to live without music. I love listening to new artists and hearing their lyrics, it’s such a creative process and it helps so many people.”

New ‘Any Other Day’ 30-second Preview Clip
April
2010

news_wgusoundtrack

Here’s yet another 30-second preview clip from ‘Any Other Day’.

The new mellow-pop track from Hilary will be included on the ‘What Goes Up: Original Movie Soundtrack’ which comes out May 4th under Amherst Records. It was produced by Richard Vission — whose remixes I love! The song is reported to be a single-in-the-works, but it depends on Hilary and the record company.

David Parker, co-producer of the What Goes Up Movie Soundtrack at Amherst Records confirmed that the street date for the soundtrack will be the week of May 4. There will also be multiple release points such as iTunes and Amazon.

“Our radio promo team is also working hard to make sure it receives play time on radio stations. It would be great if Hilary’s fans could start calling their favorite radio station and ask them to play “Any Other Day” by Hilary Duff, her brand new single from the What Goes Up soundtrack.” said Parker.

Any Other Day: New Song!
April
2010

news_newsong
File photo — do not be confused.

A HilaryFan.com member has emailed the What Goes Up team regarding a confirmation if Hilary really did record a song specially for the movie.

If you used to be a loyal visitor (thank you!) when we were still under the MissDuff.com domain, there was an article about Hilary recording a song for the soundtrack of What Goes Up, according to a staff member of a record company. I doubted it at first, so did everyone else — but we’ve just recieved confirmation regarding a new song.

Yes, Hilary did record a song for the film. It will be part of soundtrack and possibly released as a single.

Another HilaryFan.com member emailed the What Goes Up team, and this time, they spilled the name of the possible single.

Any Other Day‘.

The possible single will be included in the Original Movie Soundtrack for What Goes Up. The soundtrack might be under Amhester Records, which is linked with the Insight Movie Features — the studio behind the film.

‘Dignity’ turns Two!
April
2010

news_dignitwoyears

Milk and cookie time!

When I checked my computer time today, the date reminded me of something important — my first thought was my birthday, but that’s on the 16th — and I had a bunch of other pointless thoughts until I remembered the Dignity release. Immediately, I opened iTunes and played the whole album, reminiscing to what non-rushed, dedicated Hilary music was before.

The album ‘Dignity’ turns 2 years old today, April 3 — came out in 2007. This era was the best era ever — amazing tour, amazing music, amazing single radio-chart performance, not-so-amazing album chart performance, not-so-amazing promotion, but still. The album is definitely my favorite album ever. It was well-planned, it wasn’t rushed.

Ahh, how nice it is to reminiscence to those days. I remember how long we waited for this — how many rumors there were, how many push backs there were: from late 2006 to early 2009 — more than two ‘rumored’ release dates for every month.

The album didn’t have much exposure, but the fans loved it. We all hope an album like this, or something better, is what Hilary’s next album would be.

Go listen to Play with Fire — for no apparent reason, I just love it, haha. And it’s the first track ever recorded for the album.
