‘Stay Cool’ premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival!

Yesss.

Some time between April 22nd and May 3rd, the comedy ‘Stay Cool’ will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Above all the three Hilary movies coming out this year, I think that this one has the greatest potential of doing well. I know, I know; Hilary’s role is small — like, Lorraine Baker-small — but that doesn’t matter. At least Hilary is still there. We have 2 other movies anyway, and Hilary’s roles for those are bigger.

With its release in 1 month and a half, I’m really surprised that there’s still no trailer, poster or commercial promotion going on. Safety Glass / What Goes Up already has a poster and a trailer and to my knowledge, it isn’t coming out as soon as Stay Cool.

I wish this movie gets an international release — and NOT limited. War, Inc. was limited and the company would’ve gotten more money (or probably lost more, I guess) if they went for a non-limited release. Oh well, that’s the definition of independent movies anyway. Ugh, typical.

The Tribeca Film Festival unveiled its narrative, documentary and Discovery competition roster Monday morning, featuring a new streamlined event with 84 features and 46 shorts screening April 22 - May 3. This years line up includes includes 46 world, five international, 13 North American, 3 U.S. and 11 New York City premieres, as well as eight titles, which are part of the events third annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival. 2,254 films were submitted for consideration this year, according to figures provided by the fest.

Stay Cool, directed by Michael Polish, written by Mark Polish. (USA) - World Premiere.
Henry McCarthey (Mark Polish) returns home to give the commencement speech at his high school. But even after almost 20 years, its as if he never left - he again wants the girl, gets suspended by the principal, and is grounded by his parents. This charming comedy, featuring Winona Ryder and Hilary Duff, reminds us that time certainly does fly and old flames are hard to put out.
